Crafty Bunch was born out of a simple idea: bringing high quality, accessible and affordable crafts to the entire community. Our unique approach to learning makes Crafty Bunch one of the best craft activity providers around. We invite you to explore our engaging and diverse class schedule for you and your family.

George Rodrigue was an American artist famous for his Blue Dog series of paintings. We were inspired to draw dogs and used pastels for the vivid backgrounds. Fabulous work from the Craft Club artists! 🐶🐾

Antony Gormley is a British sculptor famous for creating The Angel of the North. He also created a piece called Field which inspired our clay creations this week.

This week, our work was inspired by Banksy. The children were intrigued by his anonymity & his graffiti style.

Last week our work was inspired by the American artist Faith Ringgold who used colourful fabric borders to produce artwork quilts. The children loved working with their pattern on pattern designs!

It always amazes me to see how creative the children can be especially with a medium like Playdoh. This week they were tasked with making their perfect pet. Would it have wings? A beak? Legs or arms? What colours would they be? Check out these wonderful creations!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year ❄️🎄☃️

The last adult craft evening of the year was full of festive cheer! Thank you all for coming & I hope your wreaths are hanging proudly somewhere in your homes.

Last week in Craft Club we made pirate maps. The children were amazed at how I made the paper look so old!

I explained that it was a technique that I had learnt when I was at primary school using a teabag. It’s a shame I couldn’t show them but the paper would have been too wet for them to work on afterwards.

Craft Club has been a blast this half term! 😎

It’s time to say goodbye to these long serving siblings. They have been part of Craft Club for 4 years and 3 years respectively, including crafting online with me during Covid. I will miss seeing them every week & watching their creative talents develop! 🥹

This week we talked about birds. I told the children a story about a massive pheasant (I think!) that landed on my car bonnet a few months ago & looked at me for about half an hour while I watched TV inside my house. Scroll to the last slide for said bird…

When I was a full time teacher, the thought of getting out both paint AND pastels for a single art lesson would fill me with dread! I was always worried about the mess, how much time it would take & if the children would use things correctly.

But look at me now! The children (and I) loved using mixed media to create these beautiful animal pieces. I think this might have been my favourite session yet! 🌟

Last week some of the boys didn’t want to use pink paint as, “It’s a girly colour”. I encouraged them to give it a go & once they had a paintbrush in their hand, they started to enjoy the process & didn’t mention the colour at all.
